25And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
25questioned him, "Why then do you baptize if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?"
26John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
26"I baptize with water," John replied, "but among you stands one you do not know.
27He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

40One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.
40Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus.
41He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

42And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
2He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him."
3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
3Jesus replied, "Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again."
4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?

28Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people,
29Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
29"Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?"
30Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.
30They came out of the town and made their way toward him.
31In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.

19Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me?

38Later, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for the body of Jesus. Now Joseph was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly because he feared the Jewish leaders. With Pilate's permission, he came and took the body away.
39And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.

23Because of this, the rumor spread among the believers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?"
24This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.
